What belongs in a complete investment migration quotation?

The questions that turn a starting price into a useful household budget, from committed capital to recurring costs.

Key takeaways

  • Separate qualifying capital, application charges and recurring obligations in the same quotation.
  • Ask what is included for your actual applicants, rather than relying on a headline family price.
  • Record payment triggers, exclusions and unresolved estimates before comparing totals.

Ask for a household quotation

A starting price helps you decide whether to investigate a route. It does not replace a quotation for the people applying. Send the same household information to everyone preparing your comparison: relationships, ages and the dependency questions that need assessment. Ask them to state those assumptions on the quotation so its scope remains clear.

The linked program records separate investment or contribution amounts from other charges and conditions. Use them to prepare questions, then ask the responsible provider to identify what applies to your household. If an item is included, have that inclusion written down. If it is not yet priced, keep it visible as an unresolved cost.

Put each amount in the right column

Create separate columns for qualifying capital, government and application charges, professional services, and ongoing commitments. Within capital, distinguish a contribution from an asset you would hold. Ask whether a quoted amount is required, optional or an estimate. Retain the original currency so a conversion does not obscure what you would actually have to pay.

Add a short description beside each line. What does the payment cover? Who receives it? Which applicants are included? Where a property or business is involved, ask for its operating and transaction costs separately. Latvia's company conditions, Turkey's property route and the St Kitts & Nevis contribution illustrate why one total can conceal different commitments.

Map when the money is needed

Ask the provider to connect each payment with its stated trigger: engagement, an application step, a purchase or another documented event. Mark what must be available before the next stage can begin. Ask which amounts could change, what happens if you withdraw, and where the written terms explain refunds or non-refundable payments.

Keep investment retention separate from the payment schedule. The date you transfer money and the point at which you may consider an exit answer different questions. Ask who will explain the relevant investment obligations and the commercial risks. Do not treat an expected sale value or a possible return as money already available for your budget.

Compare what is still missing

Before choosing between totals, compare their exclusions. A lower figure with unresolved items is an incomplete quotation, not a demonstrated saving. Finish with one document showing household assumptions, currencies, inclusions, timing and open questions. Request an updated version when an applicant or route changes, and keep the previous version for a clear comparison.
